DEMO DAZE IS BACK!

That is right, Demo Daze is back.   You can’t beat the price at the 2007 rate of $20 per day.  What will our $20 get us, but 3 exciting demos for the day? Three demos’ that will help to ignite your creativity.  No need to sign up ahead of time, just show up. So cheap you can come for one or all three. You can come one or both days. Mark your calendar for 18th and 19th and join us for the time of your life.  What a chance to work your own workshop at your own hours.

Thursday, March 18th

Henriette Arnold…………Composition, Georgia O'Keeffe influenced Dow Theory

  • Get a sampling of the ancient Japanese Toa Theory that Georgia O’Keeffe used in designing her paintings
    • Watercolors

Tammy Seymour……………..Getting the Cob webs out, Creating Texture

  • Create texture with Halloween cobwebs for a great underpainting
    • Yupo, Larger sheets work better(can get at Utrecht, foam core or gator board larger than yupo.  May want to have two sheets so you can work on on when the other is drying, Halloween webbing(if you have it), push pins, spray bottle of water, large brush 2 or 3 inches

Teresa Kirk……………………….Redeeming a Painting

  • Paintings under your bed you’re not crazy about.  Give it a new lease on life by adding elements that will enhance the history of the old.
    • Old paintings, gesso, watercolor and or gouache

Jane Collin…..Introduction to Casein.  One of the most durable mediums known to man.

  • Come see why Casein was used by Byzantine, Roman and Renaissance artist including many of the old masters. So versatile it can create a variety of effects from rich qualities of oil to thin watercolor washes.
    • 300 LB watercolor paper, disposable palette (paper plates), reference materials

  • Being forced into the future because slides are no longer accepted for entry in your favorite exhibit? Well have no fear as demo daze will speed you into the current times with our digital entry demo and dialogue. 4”x6” in no larger than 300 dpi? 1200 pixels maximum in any direction? Name the file in jpg format? If things like this confound you then we look forward to seeing you at demo daze 2010!

Carol Thaw………………………..A Taste of Life, Life studies that is.

  • Come find out what Wed. morning life study is all about. Learn to draw and/or paint from a live model and see what it can bring to your work.  From gestures to the longer poses, capture the essence of the figure.
    • Any drawing or painting items you use

Remember to bring in addition to the list of supplies, drop cloths, water buckets, brushes, paints, paper towels, you know the normal gear to paint with.
